Anime World Order Show # 69c - Doujinshi 101 with Zero-chan

Show 69 concludes with Clarissa and Zero-chan's introduction to doujinshi. But since that would be ONLY an hour, we've got yet another news segment in front of it too.

Full show notes with links to come.

Let's News! (0:00 - 56:44)
No point in reintroducing ourselves since this is the third part of what is technically one episode! Note: the Deep Discount 20% off sale of madness is underway as is Right Stuf's Geneon closeout. We've each spent so much money that we should set ourselves up as affiliates or something at this point.

Bandai Visual to be liquidated. Now let's hope that Bandai Visual's business practices don't infect Bandai Entertainment's. And speaking of companies on the rocks, Tokyopop to be Liquidated. Look forward to Tokyopop to redouble their efforts on getting Princess Ai out there in FORCE. Also, here's an update on the layoffs that happened. Super Techno Arts has halted the distribution of the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Anime in the US. Which doesn't make that much of a difference since you couldn't actually find the show anyway! And on the subject of Jojo's, here's what happens when religious fundamentalists WHO DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING BUY THE SHOW start complaining about religious insensitivity. Also, Bandai Entertainment talks about increasing episode count on their DVDs. Towards the Terra will get 8 episodes a disk and Gurren Lagann will get 9 episodes a disk for the sub only release as an example. ADV also confirms that there's more ADV manga coming in the form of Yotsuba& and Cromartie. Woo! That just happens to be the two manga series that we care about too! Also, Gurren Lagann is getting on the Sci-Fi channel. Were people watching their Ani-Mondays (be careful, that link is dangerous)? Gaogaigar is getting the second half of the show released on DVD this coming August. This show sold so horribly that they dropped the dub. If you didn't pick this up before there's a box set for the first series coming out very soon too. Ed Chavez of the Mangacast podcast has put out a rather complete list of all manga that has been cancelled in the US. If you read a lot, chances are this is a rather annoying list (what happened to the rest of Exaxxion!?). Also, we tread in to dangerous territory by talking about a potentially incredible video game, Capcom vs. Tatsunoko! If you don't know what the deal is with this well listen to the podcast and check out this list to see what could potentially be in the game. Maybe now you can see why we're excited?

Doujinshi 101 (56:44 - 1:43:19)
Before we dive into the garden of madness, we play two highly appropriate voicemails. This segment might cover information that's common knowledge, but think of it as an extended introduction to doujinshi in general. Please note that Zero-chan's microphone sucks and it took a lot of work just to get the audio to where it is here. Foam windscreens and pop filters are a podcaster's key to a brighter tomorrow!

Clarissa here, with a few links where you can get information about or purchase doujinshi. Some of these were mentioned specifically in the show but perhaps not all of them.

Doujinshi information:

What is the Comic Market? - Courtesy of Zero-chan, here's a presentation from February by the Comic Market Preparation Committee that goes over a lot of info about the event.

Ketto.com - This site is Japanese only, so it may not be useful for many of you, but this site has a listing of probably every single doujin event being held. Unfortunately they don't have anything before 2000 listed, but for anything recent or upcoming you're good.

Akihabara Channel - For the English-only crowd, here's one you can read. It only covers events in the Tokyo and Osaka areas, but that's rather a lot of them.

Doujinshi Database - Gerald and I are contributers on this site and I spend way too many hours adding books, artists and events (pulled from Ketto) along with romanizing titles. Like most doujinshi stuff overseas, there's rather a lot of porn, but it's intended to be an info repository for all doujins. There's a lot of non-porn getting added currently off listings from Toranoana and such, and if you want more non-smut info available please sign up and help out. There's so many artists, writers and books we need all the contributions we can get.

Purchasing doujinshi:

JPQueen - This store sells commercial manga, anime and goods along with doujinshi and everything is in English. Their prices can be a bit high on some things but you can find some good deals too, and I've never had an issue buying from them.

Happy Otaku Site - This one's been around for a long time now. I've ordered from him a couple of times, and he seems reliable. He stocks some older books and smaller fandoms as well.

Comiket Online Shopping Service - Buy through Comiket here, but honestly their prices are rather high and for fujoshi the selection is pretty bad.

Again, there are a lot of small stores online like Manga Store Kawaii, Kitty Cafe (what used to be the Aestheticism Cybershoppe for you longer-term yaoi fans) and the shop linked with the English version of Akibablog.

If you want to buy from sites like Yahoo! Japan Auctions or Toranoana (or Toranoana Princess Side) you'll need a proxy service. There are a lot of these, many very small and mostly known of through word of mouth, so it can be difficult to find the best one. Rinkya is one of the biggest and most convenient, but their fees are quite high so you pay a lot for that. I generally use Celga; they're a bit less convenient but their fees are somewhat lower.

As I mentioned, there's also digital doujin purchases. I usually prefer to get physical books, because sometimes there are things that just don't carry over into the scans. For example, I have a couple of Black Jack doujins with textured covers so they have a particular varied feel when you hold them; there are also some books with elaborate layered covers and such. But if all you'd be reading is scans anyway, and/or you can't find the books, putting down a few bucks for one of these is a pretty good deal.

DLsite has an English version which makes things easier, but you can also purchase from the original Japanese version of DLsite, which sometimes has different items; anime blog Heisei Democracy has a guide for purchasing from the Japanese version. I had thought it was possible to purchase from Digiket but it looks like they may require a Japanese credit card or prepaid web money card.

We didn't actually record a closing segment, so it's somewhat of a mystery as to what Show 70 will be about. Expect a review of Tekkonkinkreet, and possibly--POSSIBLY--the second pillar of the Holy Manga Video Trinity of Suck. No guarantees though.

Anime World Order Show # 69b - Setting a Record For Usage of the "R" Word

The hentai hoedown that is Show 69 continues, with our special guest Zero-chan from Japanator. Gerald reviews Cream Lemon and Daryl doesn't review Wicked City so much as synopsize it scene by scene so you don't have to see it. Psst: see it.

Watch this space for special pictures. Work-safe ones, even. Maybe.

Review: Cream Lemon (0:00 - 32:21)
Gerald takes it upon himself to review this decades-long, massive anthology of monster-creating insanity that gave rise to Project A-Ko. Since each part of Cream Lemon is its own separate story and fits into its own genre, the decision is made to only talk about some of the better entries in the series. Somehow while discussing the finer details of it all, we end up making allusions to Firefly as well as jars containing the tears of neglected children. Also, angel's blood. And Transformers. Can't forget those.

"Review": Wicked City (32:21 - 1:23:12)
Look at the running time of that segment. You could just actually go and watch Wicked City in that amount of time, but then you run the risk of someone walking in and seeing you watching it. You can't possibly pretend you're not watching Wicked City, but with this audio review, you can act like you're listening to something respectable! In keeping with the previous review of Demon City Shinjuku, a scene by scene breakdown ensues. Normally this sort of thing would be edited down. NOT THIS TIME. Total number of FALCON PUNCH-es thrown in this anime: three.

Our hero Taki Renzaburo is just too freaking cool to worry about the little things in life, like how he's been FREAKING IMPALED THROUGH THE STOMACH
Makie would be totally radical if not for the fact that she's a Kawajiri female and therefore gets brutally raped within 30 seconds of this image capture. This statement is true regardless of what image of her is used. Notable pornstars sporting Makie's skin complexion: two.
Yoshiaki Kawajiri is a God when it comes to character designs. Why, there must be at least 30 points of douchebag articulation visible in just this frame alone.
In the name of Jesus, Fortenberry casts out the demon of elbow spikes! All that remains is for Clarissa to go to the purity ball! Because nothing is more effective for contraception than a ring and a card. Except for well, actual contraception. Also, molars in the pudendum.
As you can see, Wicked City is a sophisticated and classy adult erotica thriller that services a niche which mainstream porno does not. Therefore when you purchase this on DVD you should do so by clicking here. Talk about shameless advertising. Let us know when you're ready to buy that HDTV or PS3!

Part 3 featuring Clarissa's doujinshi primer is already edited and ready to go, but we'll let you all contemplate the grim nature of this part for a few days first before springing that one on you.

Anime World Order Show # 69a - Another Hentai Episode (Only This Part Has No Hentai)

Behold the much-dreaded Show 69: another all-hentai episode! With special guest, Zero-chan from Japanator! Both Clarissa and she will be talking about doujinshi in general. Gerald's reviewing Cream Lemon, and Daryl's not-reviewing Wicked City!

...er, well, actually this is just the first part of the show where we don't technically talk about hentai since the recording ran extremely long. This is just the emails and news...from weeks back. WHATEVER. Now that Otaku USA deadlines have passed, JACON's behind us (here's some jerk's con report), final exams are done, we saw Iron Man, Speed Racer got watched in the theater about two or three times, and Bioshock has been beaten...I guess the subsequent parts of this podcast should come out fairly soon.

You want show notes? You want a reason why it's been like a month between episodes? Well guess what: all you're getting is this picture.
Note: filename of picture suggests what happened immediately after said picture was taken.

This part is short by AWO standards (under 60 minutes!), so if you're hungry for more, you are strongly encouraged to listen to Gerald's special guest appearance on GeekNights in which he is interviewed for about 80 minutes. Be sure to email them or post in their forum with your thoughts. Note: Daryl is pretty sure that Gerald was actually meaning to reference the cat hair puzzle from Gabriel Knight 3, but it's GeekNights so no big deal.

Anime World Order Show # 46 - Animated Snuff Film Misogynist Crap

In what will go down in history as the AWO's darkest hour (it was Gerald's idea!), this episode is entirely devoted to hentai. Daryl reviews the extensively surreal Kanashimi no Belladonna, Clarissa reviews the manga Pink Sniper by her favorite hentai artist Kengo Yonekura, and Gerald fulfills the dream by providing us with a highly-researched review of Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend.

Know that this special commemorative Photoshop was...shall we say, OFFERED to us (you know, Comics-One is no more and their entire release of this has been scanned...hmm, ideas are forming...):

Remember, it's not porn if you don't draw the dick. Ikegami = ALL CLASS.

Introduction (0:00 - 22:25)
In the emails, we're told that there IS quite a bit of horror anime after all. It's just that most all of it is either hentai or isn't stuff we'd consider scary, such as Serial Experiments Lain or Paranoia Agent. Actually, it's a total misuse of the term for American fans to call pornographic Japanese cartoons and comics "hentai" since that's how you'd describe a person, but it's not like it's the first time that American anime fandom has taken a Japanese word and misconstrued its meaning, and it won't be the last. We also learn that even American movie horror fans are mentally decimated by Waita Uziga's manga. People have been watching Mind Game as a result of Daryl's review, which leads to a grand dismissive of experimental cinema that is sure to cause the TRUE FILM SCHOLARS to turn their noses up at how primitive we are. So be it. Waking Life is still a crappy movie, and so is Garden State. Carl Horn calls in to reveal to us a brand new insight about the End of Evangelion that dawned on him as a result of our Moon Phase review. Somebody notify Aaron Clark!

Let's News! (22:25 - 36:27)
Digital Meme is going to be releasing 55 of those really old anime titles from 1928-1936 which were recently discovered on DVD in a four-disc set entitled the "Japanese Anime Classic Collection" on April 30th. The all-region set is going to be $110, and it'll include English subtitles (plus Japanese, Chinese, and Korean). Still, the influence these have on modern anime is tenuous at best, since these are from the silent era. Daryl is so totally not buying into this post on Conversations on Ghibli, but he recommends everyone read it anyway since he clearly just has an inadequate brain capacity. Perhaps aliens turned him into a Scotsman. More likely, he's just living up to his Magic: The Gathering card representation as "The Purveyor of Violence." There's yet another "there's gonna be a live-action Ghost in the Shell!" story going around, but not only did they already make The Matrix (it's totally stretching it, but here's a page comparing screenshots from both), none of these "live action versions of anime" rumors should be taken to heart unless shooting actually starts. Clarissa is not pleased with Hollywood's trend of doing bad remakes and screen adaptations of stories that are excessively dumbed down or unnecessarily updated. However, she can't wait to see how Napoleon Dynamite influences anime. We talk some more about Tokyopop's impending release of the Twelve Kingdoms novels, which Daryl mentioned during his review of it. Hajime no Ippo actually did really well on TV in Japan, which makes its lack of popularity here in the US all the more tragic. Maybe if they didn't release a 75 episode series one disc at a time...

Review: Kanashimi no Belladonna (36:27 - 1:01:30)
Daryl talks about the final film released by Mushi Productions, the third of the so-called Animerama trilogy. We could talk about this movie, but suffice it to say that this movie is made by one of the men who directed Odin: Photon Space Sailer Starlight, which is what we best associate The Nish with. Yamato? What's that? Also, behold these clips from Belladonna NOW before Youtube takes them down and deletes our account for violation of its terms of use, though we say they're more "mature content" than "pornographic":

Assuming Youtube has not deleted those videos and removed our account, pat yourself on the back because you have now seen the best parts of this film. Gerald's recollection was slightly off, as those are in fact RABBITS flying out of that guy's butt, not fish. Fish are involved in a different shot.

  • Jules Michelet and his book, La Sorciere; "La Sorciere" is actually the film's sub-title
  • I don't think any of this stuff happened to the real Joan of Arc
  • Clarissa made a reference to Tommy Johnson, but Daryl's only knowledge of him would be from O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and he only saw that once.
  • Art Nouveau -- apparently that's the style this moviefilm was supposedly done in
  • 200, by the United States propaganda department - Daryl happens to know that the style shown here was REAL style Belladonna was done in. The name for this style is, shall we say, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds-influenced. No, not the Shatner song! (The Beatles? Who are they?)
Promo: R5 Central (1:01:30 - 1:02:29)
Courageous mecha pilot/large black man (hint hint, ladies...though just so you know, PER HIS OWN ADMISSION, it's a climax the moment he starts!) Mike Dent is not a number. He is a free man! Be sure to check out Episode 33 featuring special guest monologue by Daryl Surat! He's got a special comment for tokusatsu fandom, and it starts around the 17 minute mark. CLI-MAX JUMP! ii JUMP! ii JUMP! Suge-JUMP! ii JUMP! ii JUMP! Suge-JUMP!

Review: Pink Sniper (1:02:29 - 1:25:04)
Man, you know this episode is trouble when the most normal hentai title being discussed is the one that contains cow people having sex. Clarissa throws her Magic: The Gathering card representation for a loop, since despite the fact that Pink Sniper is a porn manga from a female author, it's not yaoi. Well, if you don't count the sequel, anyway. Kengo Yonekura is one of Clarissa's favorite artists, and part of that has to do with the fact that the guys have faces and aren't just invisible aside from their peen. How are the people who buy this [guys] supposed to mentally swap out the guy for themselves if they can see his face?! Even regular porn knows not to do that! To the disbelief of all, this is commercially available in English thanks to Eros Comix, which is actually still releasing this stuff even after Dark Horse bought out Studio Proteus years ago. This is probably the only ACTUAL porn review of the show, and as such, Daryl asks THE TOUGH QUESTIONS~!

  • Yonekura Kengo's web site - the site moved recently, so unfortunately her gallery is down at the moment, but you can still access her works listing.
  • You can order Pink Sniper directly from Eros Comix or from bookstores like Amazon; it's cheaper on Amazon than most other places, but they don't appear to have it in stock so it could take a while
Promo: Happy House of Hentai (1:25:04 - 1:25:27)
Lord Kaosu and Hello Kitty just hit Show # 50, so congrats are in order! Check them out for hentai reviews of...um, The Sims 2...and uh...Speed Grapher. And Dead or Alive Xtreme 2--wait a second, those aren't hentai! All that Phantasy Star Universe Lord K's been playing lately must have thrown him for a loop. Why, he's even started up a PSU-only podcast. Curse you people and your...work ethic! You know, TECHNICALLY, we've released over 50 things too, if you count the stuff that wasn't actually shows! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Review: Urotsukidoji: Legend of the Overfiend (1:25:27 - 1:53:39)
Did Wesley Willis compose that music or something? Of all the segments Gerald has ever done, he has probably done the most research and preparation on this one, another winner brought to us by The Nish. Brought about by a request from Teleport City (Keith's review of Overfiend is up, even though it's not listed on the front page...WONDER WHY), this could have easily been half the episode on its own, what with Gerald's Magic: The Gathering card representation and all, so a lot had to go for the sake of time, such as Daryl talking about how much he wishes this anime never existed, and that the existence of Overfiend is why he never really tells anyone that he's an anime fan to this day, which doesn't stop his cockblocking friends from chiming in with "you know, DARYL is an ANIME FAN!" which has since been upped to "you know, DARYL is an INTERNET CELEBRITY because he has a PODCAST about ANIME!" Swell, guys. Thanks for the help there. Anyway, what remains is the result of much editing and reorganizing, and that's our official excuse for why this episode is a week late. Watch this space for what is sure to be a great deal of supplemental links.

Promo: Otaku Generation (1:53:39 - 1:53:53)
Dan "The Fan" is gone, but in his place is...A GIRL?! And...KYLE?! Wow, I wonder what he's going to review after that extended hiatus brought about by being burned out from watching mediocre anime. Wait, E's Otherwise? E'S OTHERWISE?! One of the more notoriously crappy shows in recent years? And he was looking FORWARD to it?! Yeah, we get the feeling that Kyle will be itching for another hiatus real soon. And while we all got copies of the first volume of Mechademia to review several weeks ago, Bryce actually beat us to the punch since a fan sent in a copy. Man. We freaking fail at the timeliness.

Closing (1:53:53 - 2:02:10)
Can you believe that this week's episode is LONGER than the latest episode of Otaku Generation?! Special belated congratulations to Tim Eldred, whose graphic novel Grease Monkey has won the 2007 award for Best Book for Young Adults from the American Library Association. Plus, if you purchase the Viz DVD release of the Densha Otoko movie, it includes a commentary track by TV's Patrick Macias, Most Dangerous Tomohiro Machiyama, and "Jay Tack." Does japattack.com even get updated anymore? We're not quite sure. Next week, we have ANOTHER astonishing idea, and this time it's Daryl's fault! For you see, next time around we're not only going to review just Volume 1 of the title we're reviewing as opposed to the entire series, but we're also going to review things that we've never ever seen before and have absolutely no idea as to what they're about! Chris over at ADV sent us a bunch of stuff to review as well as give away, and so Daryl's got an advance review of Le Chevalier d'Eon (set for release 2/20), Gerald takes a look at Utawarerumono since he saw the preview for it on The Anime Network and thought it looked interesting, and Clarissa tackles Volume 1 of Nerima Daikon Brothers! Don't bother spoiling the secret, since this episode's actually already recorded and we just suck when it comes to editing. Namely, that we have to edit at all. All the smart podcasters never seem to need to do that.

Anime World Order Show # 19 - Yuri, Hentai, and SCIENCE~!

It's a sappho-riffic episode of Anime World Order this week as Clarissa reviews Maria-sama ga Miteru, Daryl kicks SCIENCE~! like no one else can by talking about the Often Overlooked Ippatsu Kikimusume (in clear defiance of the episode's yuri theme), and Gerald reviews the hentai title Another Lady Innocent.

Introduction (0:00 - 23:57)
We respond to listener mail, voice mail, and finally play back an MP3 message sent to us like, a month ago. I'll go into more detail later.

  • Anime Central
  • Anime HELL - also the home of Midnight Madness, Ryan Gavigan's fan parody dub bonanza. I was going to link to the Magnum Opus Productions page, but it no longer exists.
  • The pictures Lily took proving that there are in fact anime conventions in London: Photo 1 Photo 2
Let's News! (23:57 - 38:30)
This week we take a look at the tragedy of Manga Entertainment losing the rights to such CLASSY works as Orguss 02, Red Hawk (which is not anime, but Korean) and one of Daryl's FAVORITE shows, Angel Cop. We are all convinced it's a Jewish conspiracy! We also rip apart Tokyopop's (REPEATED) attempt at calling work that's not by or for a Japanese audience "manga" by renaming their entire line of "non-manga" "global manga." We also take a look at the story of some of the lost works of Osamu Tezuka that were recently discovered, in America no less!
Promo: Weekly Anime Review (38:30 - 39:03)
Aaron is now ranked 4th out of all of the thousands of podcasts listed on Podcast Pickle. By all means, aid him in his quest to unseat Josh in Japan from the number one spot! We did!

Review: Maria-sama ga Miteru (39:03 - 55:40)
Daryl doesn't need Clarissa to fill out the notes for this section, since he is perfectly capable of doiZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, oh man this freaking show [Clarissa: Guess he does need help with it after all! Have some links!]
Promo: Ninja Consultant (55:40 - 56:39)
Erin sent us Ninja Consultant T-shirts, pins, and the middle two volumes of Fierce Ryuusei by Tetsuo Hara. Daryl is just DYING to know what happens in the beginning and end. The Kenshiro dude PUNCHES A KATANA to deflect it! And not from the side like some nancy boy either; the BLADE, baby!

Often Overlooked: Ippatsu Kikimusume aka "Miss Critical Moment" (56:39 - 1:09:33)
Daryl flies in the face of the stated theme of this episode by reviewing one of the greatest triumphs of the Japanese thoughtbrain collective. The less said here, the better, but everyone had better go watch all of this. It won't even take you an hour. CRITICAL RESULT: HAPPY!

Hentai Review: Another Lady Innocent (1:09:33 - 1:25:04)
Gerald takes a look at Another Lady Innocent aka. Front Innocent, which looks better than probably any hentai deserves to. While we always have the "Explicit" tag on our episodes on iTunes, this goes double for this section, and NONE OF THE LINKS BELOW SHOULD BE CONSIDERED WORK SAFE.

Closing (1:25:04 - 1:31:33)
Next week ain't gonna be pretty, folks. Clarissa's going to review Ouran High School Host Club, (which actually I guess might count as pretty), Gerald will tell us about Honneamise's limited edition Patlabor Movie 1 box set which we've been talking about since Show # 1, and Daryl is going to be reviewing the first three episodes of...Karas. Also, Daryl's got a spare limited edition Patlabor Movie 1 box that he won courtesy of Anime on DVD, so he might try and give that away somehow. Of course, he's still got no clue as to how he'd actually go about doing that. You can't just randomly give such a thing away, after all!

Anime World Order Show # 8 - Rape Me Up, Scotty

It's a much dreaded hentai-themed episode as Gerald talks about Gonad the Barbarian in what is technically the end of the Patrick Macias interview. Actually, we have nearly two more hours worth. We also talk about cyberpunk anime as well as follow up on Prefectural Earth Defense Force.

If you downloaded this before 11:30 PM on Tuesday, please redownload it. The audio goes all weird at about the 23:00 minute mark on the old file.

Introduction (0:00 - 23:20)
We answer emails and voicemails, talking about the Naruto dub cast, our thoughts on Trigun and Outlaw Star, and how Dog Soldier permanently alters lives. We then talk about cyberpunk anime, which is mostly us arguing about what cyberpunk is. 23 minutes answering emails? Well, with Daryl out at Katsucon this weekend, the editing for this show was left in the capable hands of Gerald. Even as long as this is, we still cut out entire sections about Cowboy Bebop and how steampunk fits into the cyberpunk equation.

Promo: JPop Blast (14:46 - 15:24)
Robbie Fargo is one man with a mission, and that mission for over half a year and counting is to teach people all about the finer details of Japanese pop music. And one of the ways he does this is by playing a bunch of it, so head on over.

Let's News! (23:21 - 47:49)
Media Blasters is releasing Tekkaman Blade in both cut and uncut versions, Funimation licenses Crayon Shin-Chan in what will hopefully not be another Case Closed for them, and ADV has decided that Prefectural Earth Defense Force is only going to be available via their website instead of being available in stores everywhere. Take one guess as to what we spend most of the time talking about here.

Promo: Josh in Japan (47:49 - 48:35)
Josh in Japan is a pretty popular podcast out there compared to ours, and as the name suggests, it's about a guy named Josh who lives in Japan. Check out his show if you want to know about things like the Japanese healthcare system, the Japanese public safety system, grocery shopping, and the Japanese criminal justice system. You mean to say it's not like it is in Phoenix Wright?!

Interview: Patrick Macias, Honky Tonk Man lookalike in training (48:35 - 1:23:26)
With this installment, our Patrick Macias interview comes to a end...sort of. We've still got like, two more hours of discussion we could use! Anyway, this segment of the interview is devoted to HENTAI. Gerald's decided to review a hentai title from the 80s called Gonad the Barbarian, which is absolutely terrible in all aspects. Which of course is why we're talking about it. Includes sound effects!
Closing (1:23:26 - 1:25:16)
If you were actually able to sit down and listen to this whole episode, let us know! Next week Gerald will review the manga title Cannon God Exaxxion and Daryl is going to talk about the now-Often Overlooked film The Professional: Golgo 13. After having shown this movie--which Daryl described as "the film adaptation of the Walker, Texas Ranger lever from Conan O'Brien"--to Gerald and Clarissa (who themselves had never seen it), they were so thoroughly and deeply affected by the film that they will never be the same again.

Especially Clarissa.
